2019 Thunder Over The Sound: Keesler & Biloxi Air & Space Show
Keesler Air Force Base & the City of Biloxi are looking forward to hosting the 2019 Thunder Over The Sound: Air & Space Show, May 4-5, 2019. As the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will fly an exciting show only a few feet from wingtip to wingtip over the Mississippi Sound, the crowd will get a glimpse of the awesome skills and capabilities that all fighter pilots must possess. The solo pilots integrate their own loud and proud routine, exhibiting some of the maximum capabilities of the F-16 Fighting Falcon – the Air Force's premier multi-role fighter jet. Additionally, there will be numerous warbird and civilian aerial act air craft performing over the water and over the Keesler flightline during the 2-day event. Hi we have never been and we are planning on going this year but do not know where to stay to see the air show. Are you all going be to flying over the casinos on the beach? If not can you recommend a place to stay that is nice. We would like to take our son providing he can take off from his job this year bc he just recently joined the air force last year and he is hoping he will get Keesler as his home base. Thank you so much for your help in this matter. Have a great day and god bless.

Good Morning! The main show box for the USAF Thunderbirds will be along Hwy 90 and White Avenue flying over the water. I'd say that pretty much any of the local hotels will be good for getting to/from the show. Additional air acts will be flown over the base during the morning, so there should be plenty of action throughout the entire day.

There will be some bleacher seating provided on base. You will also be allowed to bring in a bag chair if you prefer. For a full listing of what can/cannot be brought on base, please visit http://www.keeslerbiloxiairshow.com for more info.

Hi John! There are several great hotels in the immediate area that are close to Keesler. Our best suggestion is to search on gulfcoast.org for a complete listing within the local area.

Diana, I wrote you a few weeks back re attending the air show and indicating we would be out on the water. You mentioned sending a “plat,” of sorts where the best anchoring would be (we’ll be in a 47’ btw). You, perhaps, did send it to me, but I can’t seem to locate it in my emails. Would you be so kind as to send it once again? Thanking you in advance.

Hi Barbara! I do apologize about that. If you check out the link below you will find the show box secure areas. This is the area that you will not be able to enter via boat.

Diana, I wasn’t sure who to forward my comments to, but I wanted to say how enjoyable the air show was earlier today. It was our first time to see it and the weather for THIS day was great. I also wanted to commend the water patrol after the show in keeping the pace of departing boats in check. At Point Cadet, the wakes were at a bare minimum due to their overseeing boat speeds. Thanks again for all the work it took for such a good show.
