Our Mission

Our mission is committed to outreach, advocacy, and partnership initiatives that generate real-time solutions for military-connected students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 as they face global educational challenges and transitions.
  General Info

The School Liaison (SL) serves as the primary point of contact between military families, base leadership, local schools/district administrators, and the Mississippi Department of Education on Pre-K through 12 grade educational matters. Specific responsibilities include assisting families transitioning to Keesler AFB with children on matters such as school registration, zoning, Gifted & Talented Education (GTE), Military Interstate Children's Compact concerns and much more.

Air Force 7 C's of the School Liaison:

  • Connecting schools, families and communities to meet the unique needs of PreK-12 militaryconnected students.
  • Cultivate communication pathways between families, schools, community stakeholders and the military.
  • Customize real-time solutions for military connected students facing transitional barriers and educational gaps.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to build a platform for enhanced educational opportunities and partnerships.
  • Comprehensive professional development for educators to understand the military lifestyle.
  • Construct a network of extensive resources for building resilient communities.
  • Create a system of support for military connected students experiencing parental deployment or separation.
  Base Housing Permission Waiver

If you are unable to secure base housing due to “non-availability”, and set-up permanent residence off the installation of Keesler AFB, Biloxi School District (BSD) will allow your child/children to attend the BSD (regardless of location), and waive any out-of-district tuition fee(s) associated with transfer. This waiver will only apply during your first permanent residence duration. You must provide transportation to, and from BSD. This opportunity only applies during your initial stop at the KAFB housing office.
