School Liaison

The School Liaison (SL) serves as the primary point of contact between military families, base leadership, local schools/district administrators, and the Mississippi Department of Education on Pre-K through 12-grade educational matters.

Specific responsibilities include assisting families transitioning to Keesler AFB with children on matters such as school registration, zoning, Gifted & Talented Education (GTE), Military Interstate Children's Compact concerns, and much more.

Our Mission

Our mission is committed to outreach, advocacy, and partnership initiatives that generate real-time solutions for military-connected students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 as they face global educational challenges and transitions.

The 81 Force Support Squadron offers various child care options. Children ages 0-5 years utilize the Child Development Center and Family Child Care. Ages 5-12 utilize the School Age Care at the Youth Center. Ages 9-18 also utilize the Youth Center. For more information, visit the links below.

Base Housing Permission Waiver

If you are unable to secure base housing due to “non-availability”, and set-up permanent residence off the installation of Keesler AFB, Biloxi School District (BSD) will allow your child/children to attend the BSD (regardless of location), and waive any out-of-district tuition fee(s) associated with the transfer. This waiver will only apply during your first permanent residence duration. You must provide transportation to, and from BSD. This opportunity only applies during your initial stop at the KAFB housing office.
